With over 18 years experience of outsourced paraplanning in the UK, I thought I’d seen it all; market rises and falls, seismic regulatory change, technological advancements, new faces etc. Well, the last couple of weeks have taught me a new lesson. No matter how long you’ve been around, you can still be surprised. And COVID19 has done just that.
What hasn’t surprised me is how communities have come into their own, stepping in at the point that they are needed. I’ve always been really proud to be a member of the Paraplanners Powwow community. Over the last two weeks, I’ve been even prouder to be a member of the community because of two initiatives:
- The thread started by Claire Lindsay on the Powwow forum – the Big Tent – offering Paraplanners the opportunity to share how they are doing.
- A number of outsourced paraplanners that have got together to share worries and offer each other support.
I was asked to comment on a couple of press articles and thought I’d share them here so you can find out more about these initiatives. Professional Adviser talked about Paraplanners joining forces, and FT Adviser focussed on the online support paraplanners are offering each other.
